(to include animal viewing, corn mazes, hay/wagon/train rides, and more)

Governor Inslee updated the guidance for agritourism on August 28, 2020 and permitted agritourism businesses to have the following activities: animal viewing, hay/wagon/train rides, children's play equipment/games, and private firepits/bonfires.

The guidance requirements state: "Agritourism businesses are permitted to operate, provided all requirements in this document are met. For purposes of this guidance, agritourism is defined as a form of commercial enterprise that links agricultural production and/or processing with tourism in order to attract visitors onto a farm, ranch, or other agricultural business for the purposes of entertaining and/or educating the visitors and generating income for the farm, ranch, or business owner. Examples of agritourism include, but are not limited to Christmas tree farms, u-pick berry farms, corn mazes and pumpkin patches. Each business must adopt a written procedure for operations at least as protective as the specific requirements outlined below and complies with all employee safety and health requirements. Agritourism businesses must ensure strict adherence to all measures established by the Governor’s guidance, the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention: General Requirements, and the Washington State Department of Health Workplace and Employer Resources & Recommendations https://www.doh.wa.gov/Coronavirus/Workplace (DOH)."

Schuh Farms Pumpkin Patch Mount Vernon WA Skagit. Pumpkin Barn

15565 WA-536
Mount Vernon, WA 98273

Read our full article on Schuh Farms.

Days/Hours: In October Schuh Farms is open from 9am-6pm. Family activities are open Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10am-5pm.

Cost: Rides are $2+tax/ticket and the Corn Maze is 3 years & under free, 4-12 years $4+tax and 13 years & older $6+tax

Schuh Farms has a myriad of family activities. Near the larger parking lot and new barn across Memorial Highway from the main farm they have a corn maze (wider paths and social distanced), Recycled Junction playground and giant u-pick pumpkin patch. Please park on the side of the highway where you would like to participate in activities. Once finished you can move your car to the other parking lot. Do not walk across the highway. They also will have their barrel and tractor train rides and hay rides. Families can ride together on the hay rides and all rides will be sanitized once concluded. There are pumpkin patches on both sides of the highway.

What you need to know:

  • There is ample free parking in a gravel parking lot next to the produce market and across the street. When it gets really busy they have a shuttle that will take you from the large parking lot across the highway over to the farm. This year, please plan to move your car from one side of the highway to the other as the shuttle cannot be packed with people.
  • There is a coffee stand with food for purchase. Seating is available in the grassy area next to the coffee stand. The farm store also has yummy baked goods for sale and the bakery window will be open. If any of Grandma Schuh's cinnamon rolls are available snap them up before they're gone!
  • There will be food vendors near the large parking lot on weekends in October.
  • The farm store and coffee stand accept both cash and credit cards.
  • There are porta potties available for restrooms.
  • Pets are NOT allowed.
  • The parking lot and main area are gravel and the fields are grass. A stroller does work, but be cautious of the rain as it makes it muddy and hard to push a stroller around the grounds.

Schuh Farms doesn't have a website, but they do have fun pictures of what you can expect on their Facebook page and Instagram. You can also find more information on this Skagit Kid Insider article on Schuh Farms.
