Mountain Biking

Skagit County offers many challenging rides for mountain biking enthusiasts.  You can view many of the available trails on the Skagit County Bike Map.

Little Mountain Park in Mount Vernon has a fairly new system of trails. They begin at the entrance of the park and continue up to the top of Little Mountain. The Mount Vernon Trail Buiders recently launched a website detailing the park's trails for both bikers, hikers and runners at LittleMountainPark.org. More information including location and a topographic map of the park can be seen on the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance's websiteAnother map of Little Mountain is provided by the Mount Vernon Trail Project. It shows a nice aerial view of the park and trails.

The Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL) includes 2,800 acres of forests in the heart of the city. There are three main areas: Heart Lake, Whistle Lake and Cranberry Lake. The ACFL contains over 50 miles of multi-use trails.

Additional information on the ACFL trails can be found on the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance's website.

The Northern State Recreation Area in Sedro-Woolley is located 1/2 mile east of town, adjacent to the North Cascades Highway Northern State Recreational Area Sedro-Woolley(between Fruitdale Road and Helmick Road). We were unable to locate a trail map, but are posting a picture to give you an idea of what you will find.  Turn north on Helmick Rd. and you will find the parking lot for the recreation area on your left.
